Kenworth Introduces Special Edition W900L at GATS
DALLAS, Texas, September 7, 2001 - Kenworth Truck Company's premium Kenworth/Canepa Design Special Edition W900L was introduced today at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas. "Many drivers already regard Kenworth's W900L long-nose conventional as the industry's most appealing, traditional and classic heavy-duty truck," said Ed Caudill, Kenworth general manager and PACCAR vice president. "We worked closely with world-class designer Bruce Canepa to add special styling and new features which expand upon that heritage. We believe these significant enhancements will make the Kenworth/Canepa Design Special Edition W900L the envy of the road." Award-winning vehicle designer and race-car driver Bruce Canepa has designed numerous tractor/trailers and transporters for major racing teams and corporations. He recently drove a Kenworth T2000 to a record time in the Highway Class/Big Rig Division in the annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. "I wanted to build a true custom truck that takes the heritage of the Kenworth W900L to the next level," Canepa said. "This truck is about attention to detail." The Kenworth/Canepa Design Special Edition W900L vehicle exterior features a custom, two-tone paint design of black over platinum silver or white over platinum silver. A custom Texas Square bumper with "Kenworth" laser-scripted into the chrome adds a touch of style. Heated Moto "Aero" mirrors are included to help during cold weather. Inside, the Kenworth/Canepa Design Special Edition W900L starts with Kenworth's new cab interior and upgraded dash and goes from there.
