AMA ANNOUNCES SEMINARS FOR 2002 WOMEN & MOTORCYCLING CONFERENCE PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has announced the lineup of informative and entertaining seminars to be offered at the 2002 AMA Women & Motorcycling Conference, scheduled for June 29 through July 3 at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia. The seminars, which will make up the morning portion of the conference program, are: - Racey Women - Riding Two & Three Up - Freelance Writing - Political Awareness - You, Your Bike, & the Kitchen Sink - Advanced Riding Strategies - First Responder - Gearing Up - Off-Road 101 In addition, several round-table discussions will allow participants to share their perspectives on women and motorcycling. The seminars and discussions are just one feature of the 2002 AMA Women & Motorcycling Conference. BMW, Harley-Davidson/Buell, Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha will bring fleets of new models to the event, offering free demo rides to conference participants. An "Art of Women Motorcyclists" competition will give conference participants an opportunity to showcase their motorcycle-related art, photography, and writing. Participants can test their skills on a BattleTrax course, take off on self-guided tours through the Allegheny foothills, and shop the vendor fair. A parade and street party in Buckhannon, a motocross demonstration, and special opening and closing celebrations are also planned. On July 3, the conference's final day, participants have the option of attending a Women's Motocross School, a Motorcycle Safety Foundation Dirt Bike School, or an AMA EAGLES Workshop. The first two AMA Women & Motorcycling Conferences were held in 1997 and 2000. More than 700 women and men attended the 2000 conference, from 46 states, Sweden, Australia and Canada. West Virginia Wesleyan College, located in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, was chosen as the site of the 2002 AMA Women & Motorcycling Conference for its excellent facilities, and for its proximity to great motorcycle riding.
