Porsche Cars North America Reports May U.S. Sales
Second Best May in PCNA History
ATLANTA, June 2 -- Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars (Boxster, 911, Carrera GT and Cayenne) in the United States and Canada, today announced U.S. retail sales totaled 2,639 vehicles in May, down 12 percent compared to the same month last year. Still, it was the second best May in history for Porsche in the U.S., with the previous record of 3,007 cars set last year. In addition, year-to- date sales were up 23 percent to 12,901 cars.
"Consumers are concerned about volatility in markets and in world events. Given that, we are pleased with our performance," said PCNA CEO Peter Schwarzenbauer. "The Porsche 911 is going strong, and Cabriolet models remain in high demand."
