David Champion, Sr. Director Auto Test Department of Consumer Reports to Speak at Motor Press Guild Luncheon
This advisory is an invitation to news organizations to send a reporter and/or crew to cover the appearance of David Champion, head of the Auto Testing Department for Consumer Reports. The magazine has often had a contentious relationship with auto manufacturers who, along with automotive journalists from a variety of Southern California media will be among the listeners at Tuesday's luncheon.
WHO: David Champion, Senior Director of Consumer Reports' Auto Test
facility will focus on the erosion of brand loyalty, rising
consumer expectations, new technologies, and used-car purchases.
Plus, he will give a brief behind-the-scenes look at the
organization's 327-acre test facility and address how Consumer
Reports had to change they way they determine 'Recommended'
status for certain vehicles, due to recent changes in crash test
procedures.
WHAT: Motor Press Guild Monthly Meeting. The MPG is a 20-year old
automotive journalist and public relations association that
provides a forum for newsworthy speakers to address issues and
events relevant to the automotive industry.
