Mercedes-Benz Screws Up Again - But Stll Mercedes
Posted By www.eMercedesBenz.com on September 30, 2005 at 10:00 AM CST Thanks to everyone for sending us this story, but we'll have to give credit to Gabriel for sending it to us first. Today, Mercedes announced they will be recalling 50,000 vehicles, due to a potential problem with the windshield wipers. The recall, which will primarily affect the German market, includes A-Class models built from April of 2002 through April of 2003, and Vaneo models built from April of 2002 through March of 2003. This news comes on the heels of Mercedes recalling 1.3 million vehicles earlier this year, the largest in Mercedes' history. Unless you've been living in a cave for the past several months, I'm sure by now you've heard of Mercedes' so called "quality problems." To be honest, I personally have never been worried about Mercedes quality, and I doubt I ever will. Let me ask you a question. If you're the type that lies awake at night worrying your vehicle's quality and praying a maintenance-free life, what cars would be at the top of your list? Probably a Lexus or Honda, am I correct? So what does this mean? I believe, are you ready for this, that if you buy a Mercedes, you buy it for more than just quality. There, I said it. In other words, no matter what happens, Mercedes will always be Mercedes, and Lexus will always be Lexus. Mercedes has surpassed quality, Mercedes has become the definition of luxury. Don't believe me? Next time you're walking down the street, stop and ask someone to name a luxury car. Nine times out of ten they'll name Mercedes. This is why people buy Mercedes - not because of quality, but because of what it is - a Mercedes. Any one that wants to tote Mercedes' quality problems, feel free to do so. As for me, I'd rather drive an S-Class that has "quality problems" than an LS430 that runs forever. Sorry, I got carried away. To view more Mercedes-Benz news, click below... www.eMercedesBenz.com
