California Public and Private Leaders Respond to Transportation Energy Crisis

WHAT: Leading experts from industry and government will discuss and
lay out immediate and future steps that can be taken in
California to address the growing financial and security threat
to consumers and businesses from our costly dependence on
unstable transportation energy supplies.
WHY: Frustrated by inaction at the federal level, leaders from
industry, government, technology, investment and conservation
communities have forged ahead to propose the framework and
process that could help solve the crisis at the state and local
level. California can chart a unique energy future.
-- A major announcement will be made December 1st of the
creation of a Blue Ribbon Commission of leaders from
California's public and private sectors, including former
U.S. Secretary of State George Shultz. This group will
develop a bipartisan plan and recommend actions for
government and industry to secure the state's energy future.
