The Chrysler Foundation Donates $100,000 to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation
- Toys for Tots also will receive hundreds of toys - Donation marks more than 10 years of support from Chrysler and its manufacturing plants - New Detroit Symphony Orchestra director makes first public appearance
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Dec. 14 -- What: Thousands of children will have a happier holiday season thanks
to the generosity of The Chrysler Foundation, which today will
present a $100,000 check to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and
enough toys to fill five Chrysler and Dodge minivans. After the
check presentation, Leonard Slatkin, the new director of the
Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO), will conduct the DSO in his
first public appearance. Slatkin is the former director of the
National Symphony in Washington, D.C. The Toys for Tots
donation will help parents who don't have the funds to buy
holiday gifts for their children. Chrysler and its
manufacturing plants have supported Toys for Tots for more than
10 years.
