NASCAR Featherlite Modifieds Head for Holland

                       NASCAR Mods Set For Holland


FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

   GARDINER, Me. -- The thunder of Niagara Falls may have to take a back seat 
to the thunder of 700 horsepower as the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Tour 
makes its annual trek to the Holland International Speedway for the Sunoco 
150 on July 26.

   The NASCAR Featherlite Modified Tour has always played to a packed house 
in their only annual trip to the upstate region of New York, and the 1997 
edition of the race should be no different.

   Leading the pack will be Mike Stefanik of Coventry, R.I. who has proven to 
be one of the most versatile drivers in 1997, winning on tracks ranging from 
one-quarter mile to 1.058 mile. Holland's three-eighths mile falls smack in 
the middle. Of last year's top-three finishers, only Stefanik, the 1996 
runner-up,  is returning with the same team.

   Jerry Marquis of Broad Brook, Conn. won the race last year driving Art 
Barry's car, but Barry now has Rick Fuller of Auburn, Mass. at the keyboard. 
Fuller has already scored a win this year.

   Steve Park of E. Northport, N.Y. drove the Scott and Patty Bandzul car to 
third place at Holland, but he is now driving for Dale Earnhardt on the 
NASCAR Busch Series. Mike Ewanitsko of Babylon, N.Y. has been assigned 
driving duties in the Bandzul car for 1997, and he too has visited victory 
lane this year.

   But, when it comes to NASCAR Featherlite Modified Tour racing, past 
performance is of little value. When the green flag flies, it will be a 
real-time exercise in gaining as much ground as possible in as little time as 
possible - something the NASCAR Modified has been bred to do.

   There will be little else to think about while some of the best drivers in 
the entire Northeast  ply their trade in these ground rockets.

   And when the checkered flag waves, Niagara Falls will again become one of 
the most thunderous attractions of the region - at least until next year.
