Quotes from Glenn Allen, 1996 Raybestos Rookie of The Year:
"I look at this race as my homecoming race. Growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio, I
always kept an eye on Indianapolis and everything that was happening there. I
raced here many times in the ASA Series and have a very comfortable feeling
about IRP. In talking to my dad, it sounds like the whole city is coming over
to watch me race. It would be a great place to win my first Busch race in
front of everyone."
"I have developed a new feeling of confidence over the past three races. I
have to attribute this to having John Monsam on board as crew chief and the
extra effort all the guys on the team are giving. The cars have been really
good for the last three races and I expect another strong race car this
weekend. We are going to try again to qualify up front and stay out of
trouble. It would be nice to go into the off-week knowing we have had 4
straight solid runs."
PIT NOTES
After becoming sick during The Gateway 300 last Saturday, Allen has rested up
this week and expects no lingering effects from his illness.
Glenn Allen will appear at The Waverly, NY Racefest on Tuesday August 5th.
Allen and Busch Grand National defending champion Randy Lajoie will sign
autographs and visit with fans. This visit marks the second straight year
Allen has appeared at the event.
