DALE EARNHARDT NOTES & QUOTES: ITW DEVILBISS 400
BROOKLYN, NY - The GM Goodwrench Service Plus team left Michigan Speedway in
June with a seventh place finish. It was their best finish at MS since a
second-place finish in June of 1994.
- Earnhardt's best string of finishes at Michigan Speedway came from August
1983 to June 1988. In those ten events, he posted 1 win, 7 top-5 and 10
top-10 finishes.
- Not known for its qualifying efforts, the GM Goodwrench Service Plus team
made a top-5 starting spot in three of the first 15 races. They have made
drastic improvement. In the last five races they have qualified in the top-5
in four of those races.
- Many questions have been asked about the "Plus" on the hood of the black
No. 3 Monte Carlo. General Motors Service Parts Operation (SPO) kicked-off
its national roll out of GM Goodwrench Service Plus this week in Detroit. The
GM Goodwrench Service Plus program brings the automobile service industry to
its highest level, providing the customer advantages of convenient service
hours, courtesy transportation, upfront competitive pricing, and a limited
lifetime guarantee covering eligible parts and labor.
QUOTES
"We've seen a lot of improvement with the race car. The results may not show
exactly how well we've ran, but we know where we are headed. If we can get
everything to go right at the same time on the same day, we're going to be
the best one of these Sunday's real soon," said Dale Earnhardt.
"The Monkey keeps jumping off one back and onto another back. The problem is
all those backs are on our team," said Richard Childress.
"GM Goodwrench is always looking to improve its service to its customers,"
remarked Earnhardt. "The GM Goodwrench Service Plus program raises the
standard of customer service to its highest level. I know first hand because
I'm a GM dealer myself."
