TODD BODINE NOTES & QUOTES: DETROIT GASKET 200
BROOKLYN, MI - WHO WAS THAT MASKED MAN? . . . Todd Bodine and Team 34 came to
Watkins Glen last week like a lamb, but went out like a lion for qualifying
and captured the pole for NASCAR Winston Cup Series "Bud at the Glen" race.
"We were surprised, without a doubt," said Bodine. Crew chief, Clyde McLeod
added, "We're pretty proud of this one. It's nice to know we helped Todd get
his first pole and entry into next year's 'Bud ShootOut.'"
150 RACES IN THE BOOKS . . . Indianapolis Raceway Park marked Bodine's 150th
start in NASCAR Busch Series competition. As he goes for 151 at Michigan
Speedway, he'll try to match his debut performance, when he won the inaugural
NASCAR Busch Series in 1992.
STANLEY KEEPING TODD BUSY! . . . After a long day of racing, most drivers fly
home and relax a little. But Stanley had other plans for Todd Bodine.
Following the Winston Cup race in Watkins Glen, Bodine flew from Elmira to
Chicago Sunday evening to be a part of Stanley's exhibit in the largest
hardware show in the country. Bodine will then fly from Chicago to Michigan
where, the morning before the race, Todd will visit Stanley's hospitality tent
and sign autographs for approximately 175 people.
