FONTANA, CA - The car that Todd Bodine will drive this weekend at California
Speedway is the same car that he utilized at Darlington Raceway in September
where he finished eighth.
Bodine had top-five finishes in two of the three inaugural races earlier this
year. He finished third in Las Vegas and fourth in Texas.
Bodine has never been lower than second in the points standings during the
1997 season. He is presently 246 points out of first in the quest for the
NASCAR Busch Series Championship.
Bodine and wife Lynn attended the IRL race this past weekend in Las Vegas with
owners of their newly formed Winston Cup team. The four businessmen also own
an IRL car which was driven by Eddie Cheever during the 1997 season and Jeff
Ward during the 1998 season.
On Tuesday, October 14, Bodine and wife Lynn will be attending the baptism of
their godchild, John Hunter Nemechek, son of Joe and Andrea Nemechek.
Bodine and his NASCAR Winston Cup team tested at North Carolina Motor Speedway
on Monday and Tuesday, October 13-14. Bodine will take the red-eye flight
from California to Atlanta where he will test at Atlanta Motor speedway with
his Winston Cup team on Monday and Tuesday, October 20-21.
