MIKE MCLAUGHLIN NOTES & QUOTES: ACDELCO 200
ROCKINGHAM, NC - McLaughlin brought home a top-five finish in the 1996
ACDelco 200 by placing fourth. He started the race from the sixth position.
- "After we spun on lap 10, we feel fortunate to get a top-ten finish
today," expressed McLaughlin after the Kenwood Home & Car Audio 300. "With two
races remaining, our goal is to finish out the season in the top-five in the
NASCAR Busch Series point standings."
- After a top-ten finish at California Speedway this past weekend,
McLaughlin advanced two positions in the NASCAR Busch Series point standings.
He is currently fourth with 3371 points.
- The #34 Royal Oak Charcoal Chevrolet that McLaughlin will drive this
weekend is the same car that finished eighth at the North Carolina Motor
Speedway earlier this year. This particular Royal Oak Chevy also finished 33rd
at Darlington on March 22, 1997 and second at Darlington on August 30, 1997.
