Thrifty Lowers Fall Prices on Compacts

    TULSA, Okla., Aug. 15 -- Thrifty Car Rental is starting off
the fall season with a bang by lowering its price on compacts to $29.95 per
day -- for an average savings of nearly 20% off regular prices.
    The special fall rate is available September 2 through December 17, 1997
at all airport and participating suburban Thrifty locations in the U.S.
(Some blackout dates may apply).  Advance reservations are required.
    Cars at this rate are limited and subject to availability, and may not be
used in conjunction with any other discounts or vehicle upgrades.  Underage,
additional renter charges, geographic and other important restrictions may
apply.
