Harley-Davidson Cafe Opens in Las Vegas
MILWAUKEE, Sept. 23 -- Vegas-bound Harley-Davidson(R)
enthusiasts now have another attraction to check out in the entertainment
capital of world with today's grand opening of the Harley-Davidson Cafe in Las
Vegas.
Over 1,200 people are expected to attend the grand opening taking place
tonight. Celebrity guests attending include Donna D'Errico of Baywatch, Rob
Schneider of Men Behaving Badly, Bill Maher of Politically Incorrect, comedian
Louie Anderson, Kathy Lee Gifford, Wayne Newton, and Stephanie Powers. Rock
'n' Roll band Cheap Trick will also perform.
The three-story, 20,000-square-foot eatery is home to such biker
memorabilia as Harley-Davidson motorcycles belonging to actress Ann Margaret
and pop singer Billy Joel; a replica of the "Captain America" motorcycle used
in the film Easy Rider; selected models of the current line of Harley-Davidson
motorcycles, and an extensive collection of souvenir merchandise for sale.
The multi-million dollar establishment will make its own impact on the
eclectic Las Vegas Strip skyline with a 28-foot-high, 15,000-pound
Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Classic motorcycle bursting through the
cafe's facade.
Located at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon Avenue, across
from the Monte Carlo Hotel, the Las Vegas Harley-Davidson Cafe will be
operated by MEI (Motorcycle Equities, Inc.), a licensee of Harley-Davidson,
which also operates the Harley-Davidson Cafe in New York City.
Harley-Davidson Motor Company , headquartered in Milwaukee,
Wis., is the only major U.S.-based motorcycle manufacturer, producing
heavyweight motorcycles and a complete line of motorcycle parts, accessories,
apparel and general merchandise.
