Infiniti Announces October Sales

Infiniti Division Sales Up 32.5 Percent; QX4 Sales Continue to Climb With More Than 2,000 Units Sold
CARSON, Calif., Nov. 3 -- Infiniti, the luxury division of
Nissan Motor Corporation U.S.A. (NMC), reported October sales of 5,632, a 32.5
percent increase over the prior-year period. With calendar year-to-date sales
of 54,891 units, the Division is up 16.8 percent versus 1996.
The QX4 luxury sport utility vehicle had its best month ever, with total
sales surpassing the 2,000 unit mark (2,003) for October. QX4 calendar year-
to-date sales totaled 15,195.
As the volume sales leader, the Infiniti I30 reported a 21.2 percent
increase over the same period last year, with sales of 2,299 units.
Infiniti's flagship luxury performance sedan, the Q45, posted a healthy 18.2
percent sales increase over last October with 1,057 units. The J30 personal
luxury sedan recorded sales of 272 units.
Total NMC sales for October, including Nissan and Infiniti Divisions, were
51,070 units, up 4.0 percent over last year. Combined calendar year-to-date
sales for Nissan and Infiniti Divisions were 629,435 units.
