Trak Auto Announces Pittsburgh Closures

    LANDOVER, Md., Feb. 2 -- Trak Auto Corporation ("Trak Auto")
, announced today that it has closed 15 stores located in and
around Pittsburgh, as of the close of business Saturday, January 31, 1998.  A
Trak Auto spokesperson stated that the market no longer fit into its strategic
plans.
    Trak Auto Corporation currently operates 181 stores, including 87 Super
Trak stores and 26 Super Trak Warehouse stores in the Washington, D.C.,
Richmond, Va., Chicago, and Milwaukee, metropolitan areas and continues to
operate stores in central Pennsylvania markets.
