BMW Reports February Sales

BMW Group Reports 4 Percent Increase in Year-to-Date Sales; BMW Posts Best February Ever
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., March 3 -- BMW Group reported retail
sales of 10,946 vehicles for February 1998, an increase of 2 percent over
Group sales of 10,704 recorded a year ago. Consolidated year-to-date sales
were 21,291 vehicles, compared to 20,377 over the same period a year ago, an
increase of 4 percent,
BMW of North America, Inc. experienced its best February ever with
passenger car sales of 9,662, compared to 9,310 vehicles sold a year ago, an
increase of 4 percent. Increases were reported across several BMW model
lines. Most notably, February sales of BMW's 5 Series jumped 55 percent over
the same period a year ago while sales of flagship 7 Series models were up
11 percent.
Land Rover North America, Inc. reported February sales of 1,284 vehicles,
compared to 1,394 a year ago, a decrease of 8 percent.
