Honda to Introduce Cleanest Internal Combustion Car Ever Mass Produced
On April 8, Ohio Governor George V. Voinovich, U.S. Deputy Assistant
Secretary for Transportation Technologies Thomas Gross and other local, state
and federal dignitaries will join with Honda of America Mfg. to celebrate the
launch of the Civic GX -- the first mass-produced vehicle to run exclusively
on natural gas.
KEY FACTS: The new Civic GX sets an environmental benchmark by:
* being the cleanest internal combustion engine ever;
* emitting one-tenth the hydrocarbon emissions of the
stringent Ultra Low Emission Vehicle standard;
* reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 20 percent; and
* retaining superior fuel economy.
WHAT: Honda of America Mfg. associates will celebrate the Civic GX
"Cleanest on Earth" launch as they watch Governor Voinovich
drive the first Civic GX off the line. Remarks and
