Summer's Here and Kia Sales are Sizzlin'

    IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 4 -- The weather is hot and so are Kia
sales.  July proved to be another record sales month for Kia Motors America.
The company announced today that 10,095 vehicles were sold during the month,
making July 1998 Kia's biggest sales month ever.  It was the first month in
Kia's history that sales topped 10,000 units in the United States.
    Kia Sephia sales also set a record in July.  The model's 7,112-unit total
for the month was the largest ever for the four-door sedan.
    July sales reflect an increase in the steady sales growth observed by Kia
for the past year, as reflected by Kia's year-to-date sales nearly doubling
those of last year.  Kia is in the midst of its market-by-market roll-out,
which will culminate in a national dealer network by the end of 1998.  Kia now
has more than 420 dealerships in 41 states.
