Singer Toni Braxton Agrees BMW `Should Get Its Car Back'
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 15 -- After learning of the lawsuit brought
against her by BMW Financial Services NA, Inc., regarding recovery of a car
leased by a former employee, Grammy Award-winning recording artist Toni
Braxton today released the following statement:
This suit does not involve any car of mine, but rather one leased by
Cosandra Calloway, a young woman who used to work for me. Cosandra has
not been in my employ for six months now and I don't know where she is.
Since I co-signed the lease for her, the leasing company has involved me
in their efforts to recover their car. I hope everyone realizes that the
leasing company is not suing me for any back payments. They simply want
to get their car back, and I agree completely that they should. Indeed, I
am prepared to do whatever I can to help them recover it. Unfortunately,
I have no idea of Cosandra's current whereabouts. Wherever she is, I
hope she's all right -- and that she returns the car as soon as possible.
