162 Lucky Winners to Receive All-New 1999 Oldsmobile Aleros
Oldsmobile and ABC Close the Curtain on Largest Car Sweepstakes Ever
DETROIT, Nov. 9 -- This fall, 162 TV-lovers from across the
country found one more reason to tune in to ABC's Tuesday night lineup.
They're the grand prize winners of the "Start Something Tuesdays on ABC
Sweepstakes," where lucky viewers were offered a chance to win the all-new
1999 Oldsmobile Alero. The sweepstakes featured a trivia contest based on
specific ABC Tuesday night episodes of Spin City, Home Improvement, The
Hughleys and Sports Night. The lucky winners have stopped by their local
Oldsmobile dealer to pick out the color and body style of their new Alero.
"Everyone is extremely excited about the promotion," said Bob Clark, Alero
Brand Manager, Oldsmobile. "Some of the winners could hardly believe that
they really won. It's a major thing to actually win a brand new car."
The unprecedented promotion successfully launched ABC's new Tuesday night
lineup, as well as the Alero -- Oldsmobile's hot, new offering in the
mid-market. Available as a coupe or sedan, the Alero's refined design and
fun-to-drive personality set it apart from other offerings in its class. The
Alero, which offers a wide range of optional and standard features, is priced
between $16,850-$21,400. The promotion, which ran from August 24 through
October 5, represents the largest automotive sweepstakes ever.
"We not only love TV, we love making viewers happy," said Dan Longest,
Vice President, Promotion Marketing, ABC Television Network. "Giving away 162
Aleros was a great way to really make watching TV fun."
