Thanksgiving turkey meals, thanks to a donation by AAA and
Safeway. A convoy of tow-trucks will deliver frozen turkeys to
Glide Memorial, Salvation Army, Project Open Hand and City Team
in San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose, respectively. The
turkeys will be prepared into meals that charities will serve to
Bay Area needy residents on Thanksgiving Day.
WHY: AAA is delivering nearly 21,000 Thanksgiving turkey meals to 11
charities in Northern California, Nevada and Utah, expecting to
meet the entire turkey needs of each charity for the holiday.
The Thanksgiving turkey delivery project, now in its second year
is part of AAA's Road to Caring program, an on-going campaign to
meet the needs of the communities it serves.
