WASHINGTON, Dec. 17 -- On February 4th and 5th 1999, leading
automotive industry executives, fuel cell technology developers, fuel
providers, environmentalists and top government officials will gather at the
Hotel Washington in Washington, D.C. for a two-day conference on "The Road to
Fuel Cell Vehicles: A National Forum."
Keynote presentations will be provided by: the world's leading automotive
expert on fuel cell vehicles, Dr. Ferdinand Panik of Daimler-Chrysler; fuel

Sponsored by the American Methanol Institute (AMI) and CMAI, the forum is
designed to help the nation build a roadmap for the commercialization of fuel
cell vehicles which have emerged as a promising alternative to the internal
combustion engine. AMI recently issued a comprehensive report on fuel vehicle
cell developments -- "Looking Beyond the Internal Combustion Engine: The
Promise of Methanol Fuel Cell Vehicles" -- that is available on its Web site
at http://www.methanol.org.
