Four American Honda Vehicles Named Consumers Digest Best Buys for 1999; Magazine Recognizes All-New Honda Odyssey as 'Leader Among Minivans'
TORRANCE, Calif., Dec. 18 -- The newly designed 1999 Honda
Odyssey minivan and the all-new Acura 3.2TL are among four American Honda
vehicles named Best Buys by Consumers Digest magazine. Two of America's
favorite cars, the Honda Accord -- the top choice of individual consumers
-- and the Honda Civic -- the best-selling small car in America -- were also
named to the list and recognized for offering outstanding value in their
respective categories.
Separating vehicles into five basic categories -- small cars, family cars,
luxury cars, pickups/vans and sport-utility vehicle -- the nationally
recognized magazine hand-picks a select group within each segment and
identifies them as vehicles that warrant special attention from consumers.
Although Civic and Accord have previously been named Best Buys, 1999 marks
a first for the Acura 3.2TL and the all-new Odyssey. Consumers Digest also
acknowledged the Odyssey as "the new leader among minivans."
