Nationwide Introducing New Auto Discount in Utah

    COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 12 -- Nationwide Mutual Insurance
Company and Nationwide Mutual Fire Insurance Company are introducing a five
percent new household discount for Utah motorists in order to attract new
customers.
    The discount will be offered beginning Feb. 1 to new auto policyholders if
every driver in their household has a five-year driving record that is
accident- and traffic-violation free.
    Nationwide insures some 31,500 vehicles in Utah and is the state's 10th-
largest auto insurer.  The company serves Utah customers through a direct
marketing program, and offers the toll-free customer assistance number of
800-421-1444.
    Based in Columbus, Nationwide is the country's fourth-largest auto
insurer.
