Retail Lexus Sales On Rise In Atlanta

    MIAMI, Jan. 25 -- Aided by the strong debut of the all-new
Lexus RX 300 sport utility vehicle and July's opening of Hennessy Lexus of
Gwinnett, Atlanta-area Lexus dealers today reported a 73-percent climb in 1998
retail sales over 1997.
    Atlanta-area dealers include Nalley Lexus, Hennessy Lexus and its
companion store, Hennessy Lexus of Gwinnett.
    In addition to the all-new RX 300, sales leaders for the year include GS
300, up 514 percent; GS 400, up 124 percent and LX 470, up 75 percent.
    "Lexus' customer-first philosophy really befits Atlanta, a city long
recognized for its Southern hospitality," said Lexus Southern Area Manager Jim
Melton. "The commitment to customer satisfaction and Lexus' diverse lineup of
quality vehicles is what continues to drive showroom traffic."
    Statewide, Georgia's four Lexus dealers reported a 71.4-percent increase
in retail sales over 1997.
