UAW and Ford Motor Company Establish Crisis Fund

    DEARBORN, Mich., Feb. 3 -- In response to the overwhelming
offers of support from the community, UAW and Ford Motor Company
have jointly formed a fund to receive contributions that will benefit the
injured employees and their family members affected by the tragedy at the
Rouge Complex on February 1, 1999.
    Contributions to the fund, which will be jointly managed by the UAW and
Ford, may be made by contacting:

    Ford is contributing $100,000 to establish this fund.
