WHY: First Electric Bicycle Patrol Training in Southern California
Largest Ever Gathering of Electric Bicycle Patrol Officers, Over
100 Officers from two dozen agencies are expected to attend
during the week. The Electric PATROLBIKES(tm) are made by
ZAPWORLD.COM, and have been deployed with support from the Los
Angeles Dept. of Water and Power. Electric PATROLBIKES(tm) reduce
air pollution and congestion, improve public safety, and provide
officers with increased bicycle agility and responsiveness to be
able to arrive at calls faster and less winded.
WHO: More than 20 electric bicycle patrol officers will attend each
day, representing over two dozen agencies and departments,
including: LAX Security, LA Department of Transportation, LA Park
Rangers, and police from Alhambra, Burbank, Glendale, Manhattan
Beach and UCLA.
