First Team Hyundai's Generosity Adds to Christmas Joy
2 December 1999
ADVISORY/Christmas Comes Early for Virginia Mother; First Team Hyundai's Generosity Adds to Christmas Joy
--
WHAT: On the soon to be aired Maury Povich Christmas Show, Hyundai
Motor America gifted Kimberly Walker with a brand new model
year 2000 Hyundai Elantra Wagon and First Team Hyundai will
deliver the vehicle to Kimberly.
Kimberly's 3-year-old daughter, Alycia, suffers from Xeoderma
Pigmentosum -- a medical condition that makes her allergic to
sunlight. The family could not financially afford a NASA cool
suit that would allow Kimberly to play outdoors during the
day, nor could they afford to purchase a new car. Their old
vehicle would break down on trips to the doctor. Maury
arranged for the presentation of the NASA suit to Kimberly,
and also for Hyundai Motor America to gift the family with a
brand new car the family desperately needs.
Touched by Kimberly's story, First Team Hyundai, a Roanoke
dealership, offered to cover the cost for the state sales tax,
license transfer, and the state's personal tax for the Walker
family. As a result, the family will be able to drive away in
a new car with no out-of-pocket expense.
