Kia to Replace Fuel Pump Connectors
IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 23 -- Kia today announced a voluntary
recall of 1998 and 1999 Sephia compact sedans to replace the fuel pump
connectors.
A total of 102,944 Sephias will be recalled due to poor connections that
could cause the fuel pump to stop operating. If the fuel pumps stops
operating, the engine will stall, which could result in an accident.
Sephia owners are being asked by mail to bring their vehicle to a Kia
dealership so the two fuel pump connectors can be replaced. The procedure
will take less than two hours and will be done at no charge.
