L.A. Marathon Expo Features U.S. Debut of Honda's Latest Designs
WHAT: High-tech, high-performance Honda products designed to improve
consumers' quality of life, including the Acura MD-X sport
utility concept vehicle and the X-Wing prototype motorcycle,
will be displayed at the L.A. Marathon Quality of Life Expo
this weekend. Several of these Honda products will be shown
for the first time in the U.S., and reflect Honda's commitment
to developing performance-oriented, environmentally responsible
products that improve the quality of life and lifestyles for
consumers.
VISUAL HIGHLIGHTS:
Honda's latest automobile, motorcycle and power-product
technologies:
-- Acura MD-X Sport Utility Concept Vehicle
Designed by Honda Research and Development in Torrance,
Calif., the MD-X represents Honda's vision for the next
generation of sport utility vehicles. The MD-X is a
multi-dimensional vehicle with excellent on- and off-road
performance and features a Southwest themed interior design,
including hardwood and natural fiber flooring.
-- X-Wing Motorcycle Prototype
The X-Wing is a high-performance luxury sport tourer
prototype we may see on the road in the near future. It
features a V-6 engine, navigation system, Internet capable
display monitor, and two "lipstick" rear-view cameras
mounted in the rear saddlebags.
-- Spocket Concept Vehicle
Designed by Honda Research and Development in Torrance,
Calif., the Spocket (sport-utility pocket) demonstrates how
one vehicle can be a convertible, sports coupe and pick-up
truck all in one.
-- Flex Motor Scooter Prototype
Another design concept we may see on the road in the near
future is the Flex motor scooter, which is one of Honda's
first gas-electric hybrid scooter designs. It delivers
exceptional fuel economy and reduced emissions.
-- Honda's latest auto products now on sale, including the
racing-inspired S2000 roadster and Insight, the first
gas-electric hybrid vehicle available in the U.S.
-- Honda's top-of-the line power products, including generators
and lawnmowers.
