Thrifty Car Rental Opens In-Terminal at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport
TULSA, Okla. - Thrifty Car Rental announced today that it will open a new
location inside Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on August 1,
2000. With the addition, the company has 85 in-terminal airport locations
throughout the U.S.
Thrifty will operate a rental counter in each of the airport's three
concourses with a fourth concourse and location scheduled to open in November.
The fourth fastest-growing airport in the U.S. is in the midst of a
$1 billion overhaul and expansion in anticipation of its passenger load
doubling from 11 million in 1996 to more than 25 million by 2015. The Fort
Lauderdale/Hollywood area is one of the most popular travel destinations in
Florida.
Thrifty anticipates its customer base will be a mix of 80 percent leisure
and 20 percent business travelers.
Currently, Thrifty operates 29 locations in Florida including locations
serving the Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Melbourne, Jacksonville, Patrick AFB, West
Palm Beach, Pensacola, Sarasota, Tallahassee, Fort Myers and Naples airports.
