The Favorite Cars of Comparison Shoppers: July 2000
PALO ALTO, Calif. - InvoiceDealers, The Leader in Automotive Comparison
Shopping, released the favorite cars, trucks, SUVs and minivans of online
comparison shoppers in July 2000.
About the Study
The Comparison Shopping Popularity Index(SM) calculates each vehicle's
popularity using a proprietary weighted formula. The study results are derived
from online selections made by car shoppers who view, compare, and choose from
instant competing price quotes on the InvoiceDealers system.
July Results
The Honda Accord defended its title as the most popular car among
InvoiceDealers shoppers. It reclaimed the title two months ago from the
Chrysler PT Cruiser, which has now fallen from the top 10 for the first time
since March.
The Ford F-Series was the favorite truck for the fifth straight month,
beating all others by almost 3 to 1.
The Ford Explorer held its position as top SUV, while others competed
fiercely. The Jeep Wrangler tied the Toyota 4Runner for fourth; the Nissan
Xterra shared sixth with the Honda CR-V; and the Chevrolet Tahoe split tenth
place with the Subaru Outback.
The Honda Odyssey reclaimed sole ownership of first place on the minivan
popularity index. The Toyota Sienna could not hold onto its tie for first,
trailing this month by more than 2 points.
