Coverage of the 2000 Auto Meter IHRA Champions Recognition Party
Louisville, KY - The stars and fans of the IHRA gathered in Louisville, KY
this weekend to honor their champions. In addition to the awards banquet,
seminars for competitors, track promoters, and team members were held.
Social activities were also fun and frequent.
The Auto Channel visited the Auto Meter Competiton Instruments reception on Friday January 14th. John Sonnefeldt introduced Ronnie Smith as the "on-track" Technical Service Representative. Ronnie holds 46 speed records as well as being 1980 IHRA World Champion. The highlight of the event was the Jacket Presentation by John and Ronnie to the 7 IHRA champions who used Auto Meter Competition Instruments during their 1999 campaigns. They were:

Top Dragster: Bennie Ulmer
Top Sportsman: Frank Teague
